Ingredients

1 lb. mostaccioli pasta

1 lb. ground beef

1 small onion, finely chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

24 oz. jar marinara sauce

1 tsp. dried Italian seasoning

½ tsp. crushed red pepper flakes

½ tsp. salt
-
¼ tsp. black pepper

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
-
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
2 tbsp. olive oil
-
Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Cook pasta al dente in salted water, drain, and set aside.

Sauté onions in olive oil until translucent, add garlic for 1 minute.

Brown ground beef with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.

Stir in marinara sauce and simmer 5 minutes.

Toss cooked pasta with meat sauce and spread half in the baking dish.

Layer half of the cheeses, remaining pasta, and top with remaining cheese.

Cover with foil and bake 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake 10-15 minutes until cheese is golden.
