Description

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot coffee or hot water

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare two 9-inch cake pans.
  • Whisk together dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla, then mix until smooth.
  • Slowly pour in hot coffee or water while mixing.
  • Divide batter between pans and tap gently to remove air bubbles.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until set.
  • Cool completely before frosting or serving
