Nothing beats the warm aroma of a freshly baked apple pie. Make this classic dessert your next homemade indulgence.
Ingredients

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp salt

1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed

½ cup ice water

6 medium Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples, peeled, cored, and sliced

¾ cup granulated sugar

¼ cup brown sugar, packed

1 tsp ground cinnamon
-
½ tsp ground nutmeg
-
1 tbsp lemon juice
-
2 tbsp all-purpose flour

1 egg, lightly beaten
Instructions

In a large bowl, combine flour and salt, cut in butter until coarse crumbs form, add ice water, and form dough. Chill for 1 hour.

Mix apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour, and lemon juice in a bowl.

Roll out one dough disc and place in a 9-inch pie pan.

Add apple mixture into the crust.

Roll out second dough disc, cover apples, trim edges, and crimp. Cut slits for steam.

Brush with beaten egg. Optionally sprinkle sugar on top.

Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 45–50 minutes until golden and bubbling.

Cool at least 2 hours before slicing and serving.
