Ingredients

6 small sweet onions

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

2 tbsp cornstarch

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

1 tsp kosher salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

2 large eggs

3/4 cup whole milk

4 cups vegetable oil for frying

1/2 cup mayonnaise

2 tbsp ketchup

1 tsp prepared horseradish

1/2 tsp smoked paprika
Instructions

Peel onions and slice into bloom shape without cutting through the root.

Mix flour, cornstarch, and spices in a bowl.

Whisk eggs and milk in a separate bowl.

Coat onions in flour, dip in egg mixture, then coat again in flour.

Heat oil to 350°F.

Fry onions until golden brown and crispy.

Drain on a wire rack and serve with dipping sauce.
