¾ cup blackberry purée

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare two 9-inch cake pans.

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy, then add eggs and vanilla.

Whisk dry ingredients separately.

Alternate adding dry ingredients with buttermilk and blackberry purée.

Divide batter into pans and bake 28 to 32 minutes. Cool completely.
