- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 ¾ cups powdered sugar
- 3 large egg whites
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ½ tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Gel food coloring
- ½ cup blackberries
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
Instructions
- Sift almond flour and powdered sugar together.
- Beat egg whites with cream of tartar, then add sugar and whip to stiff peaks.
- Fold dry ingredients into meringue until smooth.
- Pipe batter onto lined baking sheets.
- Let shells rest until dry to the touch.
- Bake at 300°F for 14–16 minutes.
- Cook blackberries with sugar and lemon juice, then strain and cool.
- Beat butter and powdered sugar, then mix in blackberry puree.
- Fill and sandwich macarons, then chill before serving.
