Description

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 ¾ cups powdered sugar
  • 3 large egg whites
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Gel food coloring
  • ½ cup blackberries
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Sift almond flour and powdered sugar together.
  • Beat egg whites with cream of tartar, then add sugar and whip to stiff peaks.
  • Fold dry ingredients into meringue until smooth.
  • Pipe batter onto lined baking sheets.
  • Let shells rest until dry to the touch.
  • Bake at 300°F for 14–16 minutes.
  • Cook blackberries with sugar and lemon juice, then strain and cool.
  • Beat butter and powdered sugar, then mix in blackberry puree.
  • Fill and sandwich macarons, then chill before serving.
