Ingredients

1 lb ziti pasta

2 tbsp olive oil

1 medium onion, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

24 oz marinara sauce

15 oz whole-milk ricotta cheese

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tsp Italian seasoning
-
Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions

Cook ziti in salted boiling water until just shy of al dente. Drain well.

Heat olive oil in a skillet, sauté onion until soft, then add garlic.

Stir in marinara sauce, season, and simmer briefly.

Mix ricotta with a small amount of warm sauce.

Toss cooked pasta with most of the sauce.

Layer half the pasta in a baking dish, add ricotta and mozzarella.

Add remaining pasta, sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan.

Cover and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake until bubbly.
