Instructions

Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear the seasoned beef on all sides until browned.

Place the beef in the slow cooker with onions and garlic.

Mix beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar, then pour over the beef.

Add spices and bay leaf, cover, and cook on low for 8 to 9 hours or high for 4 to 5 hours.

Shred the beef with forks and return it to the slow cooker to soak up the juices before serving.
