  • 1 cup beef broth

  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste

  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika

  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 bay leaf


Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear the seasoned beef on all sides until browned.

  • Place the beef in the slow cooker with onions and garlic.

  • Mix beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar, then pour over the beef.

  • Add spices and bay leaf, cover, and cook on low for 8 to 9 hours or high for 4 to 5 hours.

  • Shred the beef with forks and return it to the slow cooker to soak up the juices before serving.
