Ingredients

1 1/4 cups (150g) all-purpose flour

3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar

1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened

2 large eggs (100g)

1/2 cup (120ml) whole milk

2 tsp (10ml) vanilla extract

1 1/2 tsp (6g) baking powder

1/4 tsp (1g) salt
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.

Cream butter and sugar for 2–3 minutes until light and fluffy.

Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.

Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.

Add half the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, then mix in the milk. Add remaining dry ingredients and mix gently.

Divide batter evenly into liners, filling each two-thirds full.

Bake 18–20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool completely before frosting or serving.
