Description

Skip the store bought tub and make this creamy Healthy Cherry Greek Frozen Yogurt at home. It is fresh, fruity, and the perfect guilt free treat for summer cravings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups plain full-fat Greek yogurt

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted

  • 2 to 3 tablespoons honey or maple syrup

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • Pinch of fine sea salt


Instructions

  • Add cherries and lemon juice to a saucepan and cook over medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes until softened. Let cool completely.

  • Whisk Greek yogurt, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt in a bowl until smooth.

  • Fold cooled cherries into the yogurt mixture and chill for at least 1 hour.

  • Churn in an ice cream maker for 20 to 25 minutes, or freeze in a shallow container and stir every 30 minutes for 2 hours.

  • Freeze until firm, then let sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping and serving.
