2 lbs. frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed

1 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup sour cream, full-fat

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup diced onions

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp smoked paprika

2 cups crushed cornflakes or potato chips

2 tbsp melted butter for topping

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

In a large bowl, combine hash browns, melted butter, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, onions, garlic powder, black pepper, and smoked paprika.

Fold in 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese.

Spread mixture evenly into prepared baking dish.

Combine crushed cornflakes with 2 tbsp melted butter. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup cheese over potatoes, then top with buttery cornflakes.
