- 1 lb. Italian sausage, casing removed
- 12 lasagna noodles (uncooked)
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet, sauté onions and garlic until translucent. Add sausage and brown. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook lasagna noodles until al dente, drain, and set aside.
- Spread a thin layer of sauce in a 9×13-inch dish. Layer noodles, ricotta, mozzarella, sausage, and sauce. Repeat until ingredients are used. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 20 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Let rest for 10-15 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
