Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 large egg

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1/2 cup ketchup

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 2 cups whole milk

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  2. Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, ketchup, and seasonings until just combined.

  3. Press meat mixture into the baking dish and bake for 20 minutes.

  4. Cook macaroni until al dente, drain, and set aside.

  5. Melt butter, whisk in flour, then add milk to form a smooth sauce.

  6. Stir in cheeses until melted, then fold in macaroni.

  7. Spread mac and cheese over the baked meatloaf layer.

  8. Bake 25 to 30 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden.
