Ingredients

2 lbs beef short ribs, flanken cut

1/2 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 tbsp sesame oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated

1/3 cup grated pear

2 tbsp mirin or rice wine

2 tbsp green onions, sliced

1 tbsp sesame seeds

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 tbsp vegetable oil for grilling
Instructions

In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, grated pear, mirin, black pepper, and green onions.

Place the beef short ribs into the marinade and coat them evenly.

Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for deeper flavor.

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.

Remove ribs from marinade and shake off excess liquid.

Grill the ribs for about 2–3 minutes per side until caramelized and slightly charred.

Transfer ribs to a serving plate and sprinkle with sesame seeds and extra green onions.
