Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef (preferably lean)

2 tbsp vegetable oil or sesame oil

1 small onion, finely diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced

1 red bell pepper, finely diced

2 tbsp soy sauce
-
1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)

1 tsp rice vinegar
-
1 tsp sesame oil

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp chili flakes (optional)

1 head butter or iceberg lettuce, leaves separated, washed, and dried

2 green onions, sliced thin

1/4 cup shredded carrots

1/4 cup chopped cilantro
Instructions

Prep ingredients by washing lettuce leaves, dicing vegetables, and mincing garlic and ginger.

Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté onions for 2–3 minutes until translucent, then add garlic and ginger for 30 seconds.

Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Stir in red bell pepper, soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, black pepper, and chili flakes. Cook 2–3 minutes.

Spoon beef mixture into lettuce leaves. Top with shredded carrots, green onions, and cilantro.
