Whip up restaurant-style lo mein in just 25 minutes with savory ground beef and crisp vegetables. This fast, flavorful weeknight dinner is ready before takeout arrives.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz. lo mein noodles or spaghetti

  • 1 lb. ground beef, preferably lean

  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil

  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tbsp. fresh ginger, grated

  • 1 cup bell peppers, thinly sliced

  • 1 cup carrots, julienned

  • 1 cup snow peas, trimmed

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp. oyster sauce

  • 1 tbsp. hoisin sauce

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 2 green onions, sliced for garnish


Instructions

  • Cook noodles according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and toss with a drizzle of sesame oil.

  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Remove from pan.

  • Sauté onion, garlic, and ginger until fragrant.

  • Add bell peppers, carrots, and snow peas, stir-frying until crisp-tender.

  • Return ground beef to the pan and combine with vegetables.

  • Add noodles and toss with soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil until evenly coated.

  • Garnish with green onions and crushed red pepper flakes. Serve hot.

Notes

For a more authentic flavor, consider using fresh lo mein noodles if available
