Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef

  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped

  • 1 small green bell pepper, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup ketchup

  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tsp mustard (yellow or Dijon)

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • Optional: hot sauce or red pepper flakes


Instructions

  • Chop onions, bell peppers, and mince garlic. Measure out all sauce ingredients.

  • Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat if desired.

  • Add onions, bell peppers, and garlic to the beef; sauté 3–5 minutes until softened.

  • Mix in ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, mustard, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir until combined.

  • Reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes until sauce thickens, stirring occasionally.

  • Serve on toasted hamburger buns, slider rolls, or as desired. Garnish with pickles or shredded cheese if preferred.
