Description

Ingredients

  • 1.5 kg beef brisket, trimmed

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 large onion, sliced

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 cups beef broth

  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1.5 tsp salt

  • 2 bay leaves


Instructions

  • Season brisket with salt and pepper on all sides.

  • Sear brisket in hot oil until browned, then remove.

  • Cook onion in the same pot until soft, add garlic.

  • Stir in tomato paste, spices, and brown sugar.

  • Add broth and Worcestershire sauce, scraping the pot.

  • Return brisket to the pot and add bay leaves.

  • Cover and cook in the oven at 325°F for 3 to 3.5 hours.

  • Rest, slice against the grain, and serve with sauce.
