Soft, Sourdough Burger Buns that taste like bakery quality and feel ridiculously soft. A homemade bun that turns any burger into something unforgettable.
Ingredients

120 g active sourdough starter

240 ml warm whole milk

1 large egg

55 g melted unsalted butter

35 g sugar

8 g fine sea salt

420–450 g bread flour

1 egg + 1 tbsp water (egg wash)

Sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions

Whisk warm milk, melted butter, egg, and sugar together. Stir in active sourdough starter.

Add salt and gradually mix in bread flour until a soft dough forms.

Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 3–4 hours.

Divide dough into 6–8 pieces and shape into tight balls.

Let shaped buns rise 2–3 hours until puffy.

Brush with egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds.

Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–18 minutes.

Cool completely before slicing.
