Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast

  • ¾ cup whole milk, warmed

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 4 cups vegetable oil for frying

  • 1 cup granulated sugar for coating


Instructions

  • Warm milk and dissolve yeast with a little sugar. Let it foam for 5 to 10 minutes.

  • Mix flour, sugar, salt, eggs, butter, vanilla, and yeast mixture until a dough forms. Knead until smooth.

  • Let dough rise until doubled in size.

  • Roll out dough and cut into donut shapes. Let rise again until puffy.

  • Heat oil to 350°F and fry donuts until golden brown on both sides.

  • Drain briefly and roll warm donuts in sugar.
