Description

Sweet, buttery, and packed with crunchy pecans, this Southern pecanbread is the dessert everyone asks for again and again. One bite and you will understand why this classic treat never lasts long on the table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 2 cups brown sugar, packed

  • 4 large eggs

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 2 cups chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

  • Melt the butter and allow it to cool slightly.

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.

  • Add eggs one at a time while whisking, then stir in the vanilla extract.

  • Add flour and salt, stirring gently until just combined.

  • Fold in the chopped pecans evenly throughout the batter.

  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.

  • Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  • Allow the pecanbread to cool for about 15–20 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Don’t overmix the batter—stir until just combined to maintain a tender crumb.

For deeper flavor, lightly toast pecans before adding to the batter.

Use parchment paper if you want easy lift-and-slice cleanup from the pan.
