Ingredients

1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Zest of 1 lemon

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1 large egg, lightly beaten

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil
Yogurt Sauce:

1/2 cup Greek yogurt

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon olive oil

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions

Mash chickpeas in a large bowl and mix with breadcrumbs, parsley, garlic, cumin, paprika, lemon zest, lemon juice, egg, salt, and pepper.

Form mixture into 8 patties and chill for 15–20 minutes.

Whisk together yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper for the sauce.

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry patties 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
