Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Italian sausage

  • 4 slices bacon, chopped

  • 1 medium onion, diced

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 4 cups chicken broth

  • 2 cups water

  • 1.5 lb russet potatoes, sliced

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 2 cups chopped kale

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

  • 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes


Instructions

  • Cook bacon in a large pot until crisp, then set aside.

  • Brown sausage in the same pot, breaking it apart as it cooks.

  • Add onion and cook until soft, then stir in garlic.

  • Pour in broth and water, then add potatoes and seasonings.

  • Simmer until potatoes are tender.

  • Stir in cream, kale, and bacon, then simmer briefly.
