Description

Berry Overnight Oats are a creamy, fruity make-ahead breakfast that turns simple pantry staples into a refreshing morning treat. Packed with colorful berries and customizable toppings, this easy recipe makes busy mornings sweeter.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (90 g) old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk
  • ½ cup (120 g) plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon (10 g) chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) maple syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (150 g) mixed berries, such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries
  • 1 tablespoon (10 g) chopped almonds or granola, optional

Instructions

  1. Wash the fresh berries, pat them dry, and slice any large strawberries into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Combine the rolled oats, milk, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, maple syrup, and vanilla extract in a medium bowl.
  3. Stir thoroughly until all the ingredients are evenly mixed and no dry oats remain.
  4. Gently fold about three-quarters of the berries into the oat mixture, lightly mashing a few if desired.
  5. Divide the mixture between two clean jars or airtight containers.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least six hours or overnight.
  7. In the morning, stir the oats and add a splash of milk if the mixture is too thick.
  8. Taste and adjust the sweetness with a little extra maple syrup if needed.
  9. Top with the remaining berries and optional chopped almonds or granola.
  10. Serve cold straight from the refrigerator, or warm gently if preferred.
