Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon culinary-grade matcha powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown specks appear and the butter smells nutty.
  • Let the browned butter cool slightly, then whisk with brown sugar and granulated sugar.
  • Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  • In another bowl, whisk flour, matcha powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients.
  • Fold in white chocolate chips.
  • Chill the dough for at least 45 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
