- 5 tablespoons (70 g) unsalted butter, melted
- 8 ounces (226 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) peppermint extract
- 1 cup (240 ml) whipped topping
- 2 packages (3.9 ounces or 110 g each) instant chocolate pudding mix
- 3 cups (720 ml) cold whole milk
- 3 cups (720 ml) whipped topping
- 1/3 cup (60 g) crushed peppermint candies or candy canes
- Chocolate shavings, optional
Instructions
- Crush the chocolate sandwich cookies into fine crumbs and mix with melted butter.
- Press the cookie mixture firmly into a 9 x 13-inch baking dish and chill for 15 minutes.
- Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth, then mix in vanilla and peppermint extracts.
- Fold 1 cup whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture.
- Spread the peppermint cream mixture evenly over the chilled cookie crust.
- Whisk chocolate pudding mixes with cold milk until thickened.
- Spread the chocolate pudding evenly over the cream cheese layer.
- Spread the remaining whipped topping over the pudding layer.
- Sprinkle crushed peppermint candies and optional chocolate shavings over the top.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Slice into squares with a sharp knife and serve chilled.
