- 1 lb (450g) rigatoni pasta
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef or Italian sausage (optional)
- 2 cups (480ml) marinara sauce
- 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
- 1 cup (100g) Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups (200g) mozzarella cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook rigatoni until al dente, then drain.
- Heat olive oil and sauté onion until soft, then add garlic and cook briefly. Add meat if using and brown well.
- Stir in marinara sauce, cream, and seasoning, then simmer until slightly thickened.
- Mix cooked pasta into sauce and add half the cheeses.
- Transfer to baking dish and top with remaining cheese.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Rest for a few minutes before serving.
