- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sourdough starter or discard
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil or melted butter
- 1/3 cup warm water
- 1 lb ground beef or chicken
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped olives (optional)
- 1/4 cup shredded cheese (optional)
- 1 egg
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour and salt, then add sourdough starter, oil, and water to form a dough. Knead until smooth and let rest.
- Cook ground meat in a skillet, then add onion, garlic, and peppers. Stir in spices and let cool.
- Divide dough and roll into small circles.
- Add filling to each circle, fold over, and seal edges tightly.
- Brush with beaten egg.
- Bake until golden or fry until crispy.
- Let cool slightly and serve warm.
