Ingredients

  • 1 cup active sourdough starter
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  • Mix sourdough starter, milk, sugar, butter, egg, and vanilla in a bowl.
  • Add flour and salt, then mix into a soft dough.
  • Stir in lemon zest and lemon juice.
  • Fold in floured blueberries gently.
  • Let dough rise for 4 to 6 hours.
  • Shape into a loaf and place in a pan.
  • Let rise again for 1 to 2 hours.
  • Bake at 350°F for 40 to 45 minutes.
  • Cool before slicing and serving.
