This homemade Christmas lasagna is the cozy holiday dinner everyone will gather around. It is cheesy, hearty, festive, and perfect for feeding a hungry crowd.

- 1 lb. (454 g) ground beef
- 1/2 lb. (227 g) Italian sausage
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 24 oz. (680 g) marinara sauce
- 14.5 oz. (411 g) crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 15 oz. (425 g) ricotta cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cups (300 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 12 lasagna noodles, about 12 oz. (340 g)
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package directions until just tender. Drain and lay them flat.
- Brown the ground beef and Italian sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain excess grease if needed.
- Add onion and cook until softened. Stir in garlic, then add marinara sauce, crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
- Mix ricotta, egg, Parmesan, and salt in a bowl until smooth.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
- Add 4 noodles, one-third of the ricotta mixture, one-third of the mozzarella, and another layer of meat sauce.
- Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15 to 20 minutes until bubbling and golden.
- Rest the lasagna for 15 minutes, garnish with fresh parsley, slice, and serve.
