- 1/3 cup granulated sugar

- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1/3 cup brown sugar (for topping)
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 3 tbsp cold butter
- Maple syrup for serving
- Powdered sugar for garnish
- Fresh berries
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and fill it with cubed bread.
- Whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugars, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Pour the custard over the bread and press gently.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Mix topping ingredients until crumbly.
- Sprinkle topping over casserole.
- Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes covered, then 20–25 minutes uncovered.
- Rest for 5 minutes, then serve with syrup and berries.
