Description

Green Pea Hummus is your new favorite fresh and creamy dip! Its vibrant green color and bright, savory flavor make every snack platter, lunch, or gathering feel a little more special.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (300 g) green peas, fresh or frozen
  • 3 tablespoons (45 g) tahini
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 1 small garlic clove
  • 2–4 tablespoons (30–60 ml) cold water
  • ½ teaspoon (3 g) fine salt
  • ¼ teaspoon (0.5 g) ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint or parsley, optional
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest, optional

Instructions

  1. Bring a small saucepan of water to a boil. Add the peas and cook for 2–3 minutes if frozen, or until tender if fresh.
  2. Drain the peas and rinse briefly under cold water to preserve their bright green color.
  3. Add the peas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, and salt to a food processor or blender.
  4. Blend until the peas break down, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed.
  5. Add the olive oil and blend until creamy.
  6. Pour in cold water one tablespoon at a time until the hummus reaches your preferred consistency.
  7. Taste and adjust the salt, lemon juice, or tahini as desired. Add fresh mint or parsley and pulse briefly if using.
  8. Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and garnish with olive oil, reserved peas, fresh herbs, or lemon zest.
  9. Serve immediately with pita bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables, or refrigerate for 15–30 minutes to let the flavors develop.
