- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 cup marinara sauce, divided
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and prepare a baking sheet or baking dish.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet and sauté onion until soft. Add garlic and cook briefly.
- In a large bowl, combine beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, Parmesan, seasonings, parsley, milk, and half the marinara sauce.
- Add cooked onion and garlic mixture to the bowl and mix gently.
- Shape mixture into a loaf and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Spread remaining marinara sauce over the top.
- Bake for 45 minutes uncovered.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and return to the oven for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Rest the meatloaf for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
