Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups (64 g) popped popcorn
  • 1 1/2 cups (255 g) green, purple, or orange candy melts
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vegetable shortening, optional
  • 1/2 cup (85 g) candy-coated chocolate pieces
  • 1/4 cup (45 g) mini chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup (45 g) candy eyes
  • 1/4 cup (30 g) Halloween sprinkles
  • 8 small paper or plastic serving cups
  • 8 small cupcake liners, optional

Instructions

  • Pop the popcorn and remove all unpopped kernels. Let the popcorn cool completely.
  • Melt the candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 20 to 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth.
  • Add vegetable shortening if needed to thin the melted coating.
  • Pour the melted coating over the cooled popcorn and gently toss until lightly coated.
  • Spoon the coated popcorn into 8 serving cups or cupcake liners.
  • Immediately add candy eyes, chocolate chips, candy pieces, and Halloween sprinkles to create monster faces.
  • Let the popcorn cups sit at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes until the coating sets.
  • Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
