Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sourdough discard
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in sourdough discard, egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
  • Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  • Add dry ingredients to wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips evenly.
  • Chill dough for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Scoop dough onto baking sheet, spacing evenly.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are soft.
