- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 to 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan with nonstick spray and parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a medium bowl.
- Beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until creamy, then mix in the eggs one at a time and add the vanilla.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients and milk, alternating between the two, and mix just until combined.
- Peel, core, and dice the apples into small pieces.
- Combine the brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Spread half the batter into the loaf pan, then add half the apples and cinnamon sugar.
- Add the remaining batter and top with the remaining apples and cinnamon sugar. Gently swirl the layers with a knife.
- Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool the bread in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack and cool further.
- Whisk the powdered sugar and milk until smooth, then drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread.
- Slice and serve.
