Description

These adorable strawberry ghosts are the easiest Halloween treat you can make. Fresh, sweet, creamy, and spooky enough to steal the dessert table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large fresh strawberries (about 250 g)
  • 8 oz. (225 g) white chocolate or white candy melts
  • 1 tsp. (5 ml) coconut oil, optional
  • 1 oz. (28 g) dark chocolate
  • 1 tsp. (5 ml) vegetable shortening, optional

Instructions

  • Wash the strawberries gently and dry them completely with paper towels.
  • Melt the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl using short intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth.
  • Stir in coconut oil if needed to make the coating smoother.
  • Hold each strawberry by its leafy top and dip it into the melted white chocolate.
  • Let excess chocolate drip off, then place each coated strawberry on parchment paper.
  • Refrigerate the strawberries for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the coating is firm.
  • Melt the dark chocolate and transfer it to a small piping bag or resealable bag.
  • Pipe two small eyes and a spooky mouth onto each strawberry.
  • Allow the chocolate details to set completely.
  • Refrigerate until ready to serve.
