- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 cups fresh strawberries
- 2 cups milk (for custard)
- 1/3 cup sugar (for custard)
- 3 egg yolks
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare a baking pan.
- Whisk eggs and sugar, then mix in oil, milk, and vanilla.
- Combine dry ingredients and fold into the batter.
- Pour into pan and bake until fully cooked.
- Heat milk for custard and whisk egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch.
- Combine mixtures and cook until thickened.
- Add butter and let custard cool.
- Layer cake, custard, and strawberries.
- Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
