Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 lb. Italian sausage
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 28 oz. crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 9 lasagne sheets
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan
  • 2 cups béchamel sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a baking dish.
  • Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil until fragrant.
  • Brown beef and sausage in the skillet.
  • Add tomatoes, paste, herbs, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Mix ricotta, egg, parsley, and half the Parmesan.
  • Cook lasagne sheets until al dente if needed.
  • Layer sauce, pasta, ricotta mixture, béchamel, and mozzarella.
  • Repeat layers and finish with cheese on top.
  • Cover and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Uncover and bake 15–20 minutes more until golden.
  • Rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
