- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 lb. Italian sausage
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 28 oz. crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 9 lasagne sheets
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella
- 1 cup grated Parmesan
- 2 cups béchamel sauce
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a baking dish.
- Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil until fragrant.
- Brown beef and sausage in the skillet.
- Add tomatoes, paste, herbs, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 30 minutes.
- Mix ricotta, egg, parsley, and half the Parmesan.
- Cook lasagne sheets until al dente if needed.
- Layer sauce, pasta, ricotta mixture, béchamel, and mozzarella.
- Repeat layers and finish with cheese on top.
- Cover and bake for 30 minutes.
- Uncover and bake 15–20 minutes more until golden.
- Rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
